Week 2 Ex. B

Consctructive Criticism https://www.adsoftheworld.com/media/print/wwf_insomnia  Description This is an insomina-related WWF advertisment desgined by Miami Ad School. The ad strictly sticks to  2 basic colours black and white. The ad is kept minamilistic as besides the WWF logo, it includes a sentence of text and several  silhouette of Vaquitas.  The content of the ad is expressed using text in the top centre of the ad - "Counting Vaquita will make you stay awake at night". Analysis The typed message contradicts our prior knowledge of how counting things, in large quantities, can actually help put us to sleep. This contradiction draws attention to the actual meaning of the ad that is how there are too little Vaquita to count such that it cannot help put us to sleep, suggesting how the species are endangered.  The centralised format of the ad creates a lot of empty white spaces which gives this sparse scarcity effect, further driving the message of the endangeered...

Week 1 Ex. A

 BESTAIE As it's name suggests, BESTAIE is a virtual AI that keeps tracks of my schedule, mental health and compliments me! It is a downloadable software on the computer and will appear as an avatar on the screen or on an external device. BESTAIE is a play on the words BESTIE and AI in hopes that this AI will serve to be a best friend that supports me.  I feel that words of support and encouragement is extremely important for mental health. Keeping a healthy mental state can help to enhance creativity.  AI Design The design of the AI mascot is chibi-style because it is cute, gives a warm feeling and is small enough to occupy only a small space on the screen. BESTAIE is not supposed to be distracting so the design is relatively simple. What does BESTAIE do? Once a task is checked off the list or when I am doing work, BESTAIE would compliment me to keep me motivated.  Specifically BESTAIE would give me a third perspective on the things I do.
